Interim Head of Human Resources
About the Role
Our client, a high-growth, publicly traded energy and industrial services company, is seeking an accomplished HR executive to lead their people strategy during a period of significant organizational expansion and transformation. This is a unique opportunity to shape the company's culture, leadership capabilities, and HR infrastructure while working closely with the CEO and senior leadership team.
Responsibilities
- Oversee and improve payroll, benefits, compensation, and related HR programs.
- Partner with business and technical teams on a Workday implementation.
- Transition HR processes from external consultants to internal ownership.
- Lead talent acquisition and staffing strategies across diverse roles.
- Manage employee relations, investigations, and workplace conflicts.
- Develop and implement performance management processes.
- Support training and development initiatives, identifying capability gaps.
- Ensure compliance with employment laws and regulations.
- Partner with the CEO on HR strategy, organizational development, and change management.
- Build scalable people strategies, systems, and processes to support growth.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business, or related field; MBA preferred.
- 10+ years of progressive HR experience across multiple disciplines.
- At least 2 years leading an HR organization with direct reports.
- Experience scaling HR functions during growth or transformation.
- Broad expertise in payroll, benefits, compensation, organizational design, workforce planning, talent acquisition, and performance management.
- Strong knowledge of employment laws (OSHA, FLSA, EEO, ERISA, WARN, FMLA, ADA).
- Experience supporting diverse workforces, preferably in industrial environments.
- Oil & gas, energy, or manufacturing industry experience preferred.
- Proficiency with HRIS and payroll platforms; Workday experience a plus.

Location and Travel
This position is based in Dallas, TX, with up to 25% travel to corporate offices, operating locations (including Midland), and field/job sites. Field environments may include indoor and outdoor worksites, varying weather conditions, and exposure to industrial hazards.
