Interim Director of Emergency Services

About the role
An Interim Director of Emergency Services is needed to provide operational and clinical leadership across the Emergency Services platform, including the main campus Emergency Department, two off-site Emergency Departments, and a surgical hospital. Reporting to the Assistant Administrator of Emergency Department Services, this leader will oversee approximately 140 licensed FTEs.
Key responsibilities include preparing the department for Joint Commission surveys, addressing staffing and throughput challenges, and providing strong leadership to improve operations, team development, quality, safety, and the overall patient experience.
The ideal candidate will be a collaborative, adaptable leader with strong Emergency Services experience, preferably in a Level I Trauma Center or similar complex environment. Must be highly organized, patient-focused, and skilled at mentoring teams, navigating change, and improving operations. Excellent communication skills will be critical.
Must be available to start within 2–3 weeks of acceptance.

Requirements
- MSN required
- Active RN or Compact RN license required
- TNCC certification or familiarity preferred
- Extensive Emergency Services leadership experience required
- Level I Trauma Center or academic medical center experience preferred

Pay
Compensation range: $170,000 to $180,000 annually. The final rate will be determined based on experience, education, training, location, internal equity, and budget considerations.
