Our client, a publicly traded life sciences company, is seeking an Interim Director of Clinical Trial Finance to support its Finance and Clinical Operations teams during a period of significant growth and development activity. This is a fully remote position with a duration of 3-4 months.
Responsibilities
- Lead clinical trial budgeting and forecasting activities across multiple active development programs.
- Partner closely with Clinical Operations leaders to develop and maintain study budgets, forecasts, and financial plans.
- Analyze clinical trial expenditures and investigate budget-to-actual variances.
- Review enrollment assumptions, site activity, and other operational drivers that impact trial spending and financial projections.
- Provide financial guidance and business partnership support to cross-functional clinical and operational stakeholders.
- Support clinical trial accrual reviews and related financial reporting activities.
- Assist with annual budgeting, long-range planning, forecasting, and management reporting processes.
- Drive process improvements, reporting enhancements, and clinical finance best practices.
Requirements
- 8+ years of progressive experience in FP&A, clinical finance, or a related finance function.
- Direct experience supporting clinical trial budgeting and forecasting.
- Experience supporting late-stage clinical development programs strongly preferred.
- Demonstrated success partnering with Clinical Operations and other business stakeholders.
- Experience within biotechnology, pharmaceutical, healthcare, or life sciences organizations.
- Strong understanding of clinical trial accruals, financial reporting, and planning processes.
- Advanced Excel and financial modeling skills.
- Excellent communication, stakeholder management, and analytical capabilities.
