Director - Clinical Trials

About the role

The Clinical Trials Director position at the Hawai‘i Pacific Health Research Institute (HPHRI) is responsible for building and supporting investigative and research-based activities that align with HPHRI's ambitious vision. This role provides administrative support for operations, including managing functional areas such as Clinical Research, Foundation Research relationships, and assisting with strategic plan implementation.

Responsibilities

• Develop and manage functional areas such as Clinical Research, Foundation Research relationships, and assist with strategic plan implementation.
• Provide administrative support for operations, ensuring compliance with regulatory oversight of clinical research.
• Oversight of staff and budgets, including financial and risk management.
• Ensure alignment with HPHRI's vision through strategic planning and support of clinical trials within the Hawai‘i Pacific Health network.

Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree or higher in Nursing or related field OR equivalent combination of education, training and/or experience.
• Valid driver's license and current Hawaii "no fault" insurance policy.
• Five (5) years of clinical research experience, including responsibility over areas including compliance, financial and risk management.
• Three years of healthcare related leadership experience in a hospital/health system, academic department, or government agency environment to include oversight of staff and budgets.
• Previous experience with regulatory oversight of clinical research (including but not limited to: Institutional Review Board oversight, regulatory compliance, and monitoring).
