Scion Staffing has been engaged to conduct a search for an Interim Chief Executive Officer on behalf of a well-established privately held manufacturing organization. This onsite leadership opportunity is based in northeast Detroit and offers the opportunity to guide a respected industrial business through an important organizational transition. This opportunity will run through the end of the year.

About the Role

This is a unique executive leadership opportunity for an experienced operations leader who excels at guiding organizations through periods of transition. The Interim Chief Executive Officer will provide strategic and operational leadership while maintaining business continuity, supporting employees, and ensuring strong customer relationships through the completion of business objectives. The ideal candidate is a thoughtful communicator, collaborative leader, and trusted executive who can successfully partner with employees, customers, ownership, and the Board during a significant organizational milestone.

Responsibilities

  • Provide executive leadership to ensure stable day-to-day operations while guiding the organization through a planned transition.
  • Partner with employees, customers, ownership, lenders, and the Board to foster open communication and maintain strong relationships.
  • Oversee operational execution, customer commitments, and organizational priorities through project completion.
  • Support employee engagement and organizational morale by leading with transparency, empathy, and professionalism.
  • Collaborate with leadership to manage financial, operational, and strategic priorities throughout the engagement.
  • Promote a culture of accountability, operational excellence, and thoughtful decision-making.

Requirements

  • Executive leadership experience within manufacturing, industrial, aerospace, automotive, heavy equipment, or related industries.
  • Demonstrated success leading operational organizations through periods of significant business change or transition.
  • Strong financial, operational, and organizational leadership skills with the ability to build trust across all levels of an organization.
  • Experience partnering with executive leadership, Boards of Directors, investors, lenders, or ownership groups.
  • Excellent communication, relationship-building, and strategic decision-making abilities.

  • Competitive compensation targeting approximately $300,000–$350,000 annually
