Interim Associate Dean of Nursing

About the role

M State is seeking an Interim Associate Dean of Nursing to provide strategic and operational leadership for Associate Degree and Practical Nursing programs. The position serves all four campuses, with a primary work location based on the selected candidate’s preference at the Fergus Falls, Wadena, Moorhead, or Detroit Lakes campus.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with the Dean for the School of Health Sciences, Human Services and Nursing to support the administration and evaluation of nursing programs
  • Provide leadership and supervision to nursing faculty and staff, ensuring equitable administration of labor agreements and strong performance
  • Build and maintain positive relationships with faculty, staff, and internal and external stakeholders
  • Develop and manage nursing program budgets in collaboration with the Dean for the School of Health Sciences, Human Services and Nursing
  • Lead strategic planning and operational efforts in partnership with division chairs and serve as Health division leader in the absence of the Dean for the School of Health Sciences, Human Services and Nursing
  • Implement and enforce equal opportunity and affirmative action policies and practices within academic leadership

Requirements

  • Master's Degree with a major in Nursing, Nursing Administration, Nursing Education, Public Health Nursing, or a nursing specialty
  • Licensure or ability to obtain licensure as a Registered Nurse in the States of Minnesota and North Dakota
  • Leadership experience in collegiate or clinical setting providing direct supervision
  • Experience as a nursing instructor in a nursing setting
  • Demonstrated commitment to equity and inclusion

Preferred Qualifications

  • Doctoral Degree with a major in Nursing, Nursing Administration, Nursing Education, Public Health Nursing, or a nursing specialty
  • Three to five years teaching nursing in an academic setting
  • Three to five years' experience in administration of collegiate nursing program
  • Demonstrated skill in curriculum development and evaluation
  • Knowledge of institutional and programmatic accreditation process
  • Experience working in a collective bargaining environment
  • Highly effective communication skills
  • Knowledge of course and program outcomes and assessment models
  • Ability to effectively supervise, evaluate, motivate, and develop professional employees
  • Establish and maintain productive, collegial, and professional working relationships with both internal and external customers of the college
  • Demonstrated commitment to ethical behavior, honesty and integrity
  • Effective stewardship of funds

Benefits

The position offers a competitive salary range of $85,136 - $119,307 annually.
