Interdisciplinary Project Manager GS-XXXX-12/13 (07302)

U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (USACE) Kansas City District is seeking an Interdisciplinary Project Manager for the Planning, Programs and Project Management Division, Military Programs Branch. This position is located in Kansas City, MO, with a focus on the B21 Program at Whiteman Air Force Base.

About the Role

The incumbent will serve as a Project Manager, directing, coordinating, and overseeing the planning, design, and construction execution of assigned projects in consultation with the program manager and functional chiefs. Responsibilities include customer interface, project execution, and ensuring the performance of technical divisions for assigned projects. The role also involves reporting requirements in the project management system.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate and plan for the various requirements of using services.
• Monitor and ensure the performance of all technical division’s responsibilities for execution of assigned projects.
• Manage project milestones, quality, and budget from initiation through construction and initial operations.
• Coordinate multidisciplinary teams and partner/customer requirements.
• Communicate project progress, issues, risks, and impacts.
• Measure and monitor progress and allocate project funds to team members and contractors.
• Report requirements in the project management system for all designated projects.

Requirements

• U.S. citizenship.
• Male applicants born after December 31, 1959, must be registered with the Selective Service.
• Some positions may require a valid driver's license and/or a security clearance, including fingerprinting.
• Temporary duty travel may be required.
• USACE Level 1 Career Development Plan certification within 2 years of appointment.

• General Engineer, 0801 Series
• Landscape Architect, 0807 Series
• Architect, 0808 Series
• Civil Engineer, 0810 Series
• Mechanical Engineer, 0830 Series
• Electrical Engineer, 0850 Series
• General Physical Scientist, 1301 Series

GS-12 Level: Requires one year of specialized experience at the GS-11 level or equivalent, demonstrating comprehensive management of minor engineering projects. Key areas include:

• Full Life Cycle Project Management
• Technical Integration
• Project Planning and Control
• Stakeholder Management
• Experience working on military programs projects.

GS-13 Level (Target Level): Requires one year of specialized experience at the GS-12 level or equivalent, demonstrating comprehensive management of major and complex engineering projects. Key areas include:

• Full Life Cycle Project Management (expert level)
• Technical Integration (expert level)
• Project Planning and Control (expert level)
• Stakeholder Management (expert level)
• Experience managing project milestones, quality, and budget from initiation through construction and initial operations.
• Experience coordinating multidisciplinary teams and partner/customer requirements.
• Experience communicating project progress, issues, risks, and impacts.
• Experience measuring and monitoring progress and allocating project funds.
