Intensive Supervision Officer - Dorchester County
Job Responsibilities
Serves as the Intensive Supervision Officer for juveniles as assigned.
Supervises intake, probation and parole cases at moderate or intensive level of supervision according to agency policy, procedures and supervision charts.
Provides a comprehensive screening and assessment of juveniles needs to identify and implement appropriate interventions based on needs and risks.
Develops community partnerships and resources to meet the needs of the youth.
Provides alternatives to incarceration through the use of graduated responses while promoting community safety.
Promotes job readiness in youth.
Promotes restorative justice practices to address the repair of harm/compensation to victims and community.
Maintains case files including JJMS data entry in accordance with agency policy.
Prepares reports as requested or required.
Remains familiar with and knowledgeable on all aspects of the case.
Participates in job related training and workshops for professional growth.
Minimum And Additional Requirements
- A bachelor's degree in a social science.
Knowledge of federal/state laws and regulations pertaining to juvenile offenders and the juvenile justice system.
Knowledge of the objective, techniques and practices of the juvenile justice intake and supervision functions.
Ability to develop, enhance and work with community collaborative initiatives.
Ability to organize and maintain a case load.
Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing.
Ability to facilitate and broker services for juveniles, their families and victims.
Ability to utilize a wide range of graduated responses.
Must be proficient in Microsoft Word and other MS applications.
