Description And Responsibilities

The Family Partner at Open Sky's Intensive Home-Based Therapeutic Care provides support to youth and young adults aged 6–22 facing emotional challenges and multi-stressed families. Using lived experience as a parent, caregiver, or family member, this role fosters trust, strengthens advocacy skills, and empowers families towards stability and recovery.

  • Supports parents and caregivers in understanding and navigating child-serving systems like behavioral health, education, child welfare, or juvenile justice.
  • Collaborates with youth, caregivers, clinicians, schools, and other service providers to integrate peer and family support into care plans.
  • Develops goals, crisis plans, and problem-solving strategies with families, drawing from personal experience and recovery.
  • Enhances communication skills and relationship-building among family members, friends, and support networks.
  • Promotes hope, normalization, and empowerment by sharing recovery stories, self-advocacy tips, and system navigation insights.

Qualifications

  • Lived experience as a parent, caregiver, guardian, grandparent, or foster care parent supporting someone with mental health challenges.
  • High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent, required.
  • Valid Driver’s License and acceptable driving record, required.
  • Experience accessing mental health or related services, required.
  • Reliable, willing to learn, and open to new opportunities.
