Intelligence Specialist (Cyber).

This position is a Senior Certified Interactive On-Net Operator (ION) and subject matter expert role within the 780th Military Intelligence Brigade, 782d Military Intelligence Battalion.

Responsibilities

• Exploit computer components and architectures, including functions of various components and peripherals, basic programming concepts, assembly codes, TCP/IP, OSI models, underlying networking protocols, security hardware, and software options.
• Maintain operational, technical, and authoritative situational awareness during exploitation and while performing Cyberspace Operations.
• Act as an operational subject matter expert and provide input toward intelligence reports, pre/post mission briefs, and the targeting cycle.
• Coordinate with other Cyber Specialists to exchange information related to cyberspace support, collections management initiatives, planning operations and goals, and assessments.
• Mentor developmental and Basic Certified IONs and serve on assessment panels for selection of ION candidates.
• Identify intelligence gaps through regular review of message traffic, intelligence information, data analysis, and other sources.
• Advise supervisors on specific findings, recommend appropriate courses of action, and provide technical feedback for finished intelligence products.
• Provide and maintain draft documentation for cyberspace operations and CNO tactics, techniques, and procedures (TTP) as inputs to training programs.
• Assist with integrating Cyberspace Operations capabilities into operations/exercise design and synchronizing Cyber-related effects.

Requirements

• Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
• Must successfully pass a urinalysis screening for illegal drug use prior to appointment and periodically thereafter.
• Must undergo and successfully complete a counterintelligence-scope polygraph examination with No Deception Indicated (NDI) on a pre-appointment and periodic basis.
• Must obtain and maintain a TOP SECRET security clearance based on a Single-Scope Background Investigation (SSBI) with eligibility for Sensitive Compartmented Information (SCI).
• Must obtain and maintain access to National Security Agency (NSA) facilities and networks.
• Temporary duty (TDY) travel will be required 25% or less of the time.
• May be subject to extended TDY or worldwide deployments during crisis situations to perform mission essential functions.
• Must be able to handle stress inherent in short-suspense actions and time pressures.
• Under crisis operations, may be subject to short notice expanded hours, possible recall situations, and irregular work hours, including weekends and holidays.
• Overtime/shift work may be required.
• This position is Non-Combat Essential (NCE) in support of mobilization and wartime missions and may be assigned worldwide; must sign DD Form 2365.
• Must successfully complete the Remote Operator training course (FORGE) within 2 years.
• Must obtain Senior level USCYBERCOM/ARCYBER JQR certification within 2 years of completing the Remote Operator training.

To qualify, you must meet the experience requirements described below. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work. Your resume must clearly describe at least one year of experience equivalent to at least the GG-12 grade level in the Federal service.

Specialized experience includes:

• Conducting offensive Computer Network Operations (CNO), network reconnaissance, and vulnerability analyses of system networks and/or hosts.
• Collecting raw intelligence critical to operational objectives while performing cyberspace operations.
• Researching military, political, scientific, and technical developments.

Progressively responsible experience should demonstrate:

• Knowledge of intelligence processes, cycle, and organizations.
• Ability to use research tools such as library holdings, photographs, statistics, graphics, and maps.
• Knowledge of systems, procedures, and methods of analyzing, compiling, reporting, and disseminating intelligence data.
• Knowledge of organizations and methods for collecting and analyzing intelligence data.
