Position Summary

The Integration Support Engineer is responsible for executing physical and logical office moves, consolidations, closures, and hardware equipment refreshes. This hands-on role involves conducting internet circuit testing and turn-up, implementing infrastructure replacements, and directly supporting broader corporate technology integration initiatives.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

  • Network & Infrastructure Deployments: Verify internet circuits are active and within specification (perform bandwidth/latency tests, confirm handoff types, validate demarc locations/extensions, and document circuit IDs).

  • Stage core corporate networks per organizational standards, including base firewall configurations, VLANs, DHCP scopes, DNS/NTP, SSIDs, security policies, site-to-site/SD-WAN rules, QoS for voice/video, and monitoring hooks.

  • Execute network refresh projects such as replacing Uninterruptible Power Supplies (UPS), installing Wireless Access Points (WAPs), and assisting with RingCentral VoIP migrations.

  • Install, rack, and physically set up network enclosures, monitor arms, switches, firewalls, and related hardware.

  • Perform Access Point (AP) verification by validating physical placements against floor plans/heatmaps, checking PoE power budgets/switch assignments, and logging MAC addresses and serial numbers.

  • Conduct security camera verification against layout plans, confirming stream status, correct fields-of-view, mounting orientations, and capturing brief test clips/photos.

  • Audit inventory and logistics by matching delivered equipment against Bill of Materials (BOM) sheets, reconciling discrepancies, and escalating equipment shortages or damages.

  • Manage office relocations & decommissioning: safely decommission servers, ISP equipment, WAPs, and auxiliary hardware; facilitate physical office moves by systematically shutting down active infrastructure, prepping hardware for moving vendors, and resetting up systems at the target location; inventory and process end-of-life hardware according to company e-waste and pickup protocols.

  • Integration & Go-Live Support: Migrate localized computer systems onto the corporate network, ensuring the accurate restoration of applications and end-user data; provide hands-on and remote go-live support, training users on M365/O365 features, company portals, spam filters, archiving, and encryption; deliver post-migration support via remote tools (e.g., LogMeIn) to troubleshoot local hardware, operating system, and data connectivity issues.

  • Operations & Project Coordination: Manage hardware procurement workflows, placing equipment orders and tracking field deliveries; maintain active site punch lists, checklists, serial logs, and configuration photos to secure stakeholder sign-off before leaving an active site; own the site issue log, documenting customer incidents to pass along to the core project team so master documentation remains updated; liaise with telecom and vendor teams to confirm ISP circuit details and determine upgrade plans for unsupported, legacy software platforms.

Knowledge, Qualifications, & Skills

  • Microsoft Ecosystem Administration: 5+ years of experience installing, configuring, and supporting Microsoft environments, including Windows 10, Windows Server 2012/2016, Active Directory, Azure AD, Intune, and M365/O365 applications (Email, SharePoint, OneDrive, Teams).

  • Core Networking & Protocols: Solid foundational knowledge of TCP/IP, SD-WAN, VLANs, basic web traffic filtering, and voice network fundamentals.

  • Systems & Application Management: Practical experience with application performance tuning and a strong understanding of cloud computing principles (Microsoft Azure or AWS) and virtualization platforms (VMware).

  • Monitoring Platforms: General understanding of enterprise infrastructure monitoring tools such as PRTG, SolarWinds, or Nagios.

  • Soft Skills & Communication: Exceptional customer service focus with a professional attitude. Must be comfortable speaking directly with end-users, management teams, and third-party vendors to translate technical details into everyday terms.

  • Productivity Software: Highly proficient with Microsoft Office (Outlook, Excel, Word). Experience with MS Project, Visio, and PowerPoint is considered a plus.

Experience Baseline

Experience Baseline: 5+ years of experience in a Tier 2 network/computer engineering or technical support capacity.

Alternative Pathway

Solid, verified field experience without a degree or a degree in a non-technical field is entirely acceptable. Six years of progressive experience in systems administration, technical support, training, or consulting within a Microsoft, Cisco, Azure, or Fortinet infrastructure environment is preferred.

Credentials

Possession of one or more entry-to-mid level technical certifications is highly valued: CompTIA A+, Network+, Security+, Microsoft, VMware, Cisco CCNA, Fortinet, or equivalent credentials.
