Integration Platform Reliability Engineer

About the role

We’re Dealer Tire, a family-owned, international distributor of tires and parts established in 1918 in Cleveland, OH. We’re looking for driven individuals to join our team.

Essential Job Functions

• Develop and maintain platform documentation, training materials and systems documentation.
• Maintain the stability and reliability of the integration platforms.
• Monitor the performance and availability of the integration platforms, recommend, and implement remediations to issues.
• Follow Dealer Tire and affiliate policies regarding change control and incident management.
• Patch and update integration platform toolsets according to policies.
• Assist Integration Specialists with platform inter-operability issues.
• Support the infrastructure roadmap.
• Maintain the appropriate security posture based upon policy and contract requirements.
• Design and implement the Integration roadmap.
• Recommend, design, develop and implement small and medium scale automations.
• Help in the development of junior team members.
• Manage projects, document tasks, and develop training materials for Information Technology systems.
• Communicate business requirements to the Information Technology staff.
• Collaborate on Information Technology projects with various functional areas and staff to clarify business requirements, answer questions, and resolve problems.
• Monitor the daily transmission and collection of EDI/Integration files.
• Manage implementation, coordinate with various functional staff to develop user acceptance test objectives, test plans and test scripts, and perform system tests and user acceptance tests.
• Facilitate documentation and approval of requirements changes of either a business or technical nature, during Information Technology projects, using change management procedures.
• Execute unit and integrated system test reviews as appropriate with Information Technology staff.
• Manage production implementations, some of which may require after-hour activities to complete.

Required Skills

• 3-5 Years experience of maintaining an EDI / Integration platform such as Axway B2Bi Express, Mulesoft, Sterling Integration Suite or similar software (cloud or on premise), including upgrades and applying patches.
• Experience with scripting languages and techniques (Python, *nix shell, Powershell).
• Operator level experience with either RedHat or SUSE Enterprise Linux.
• Operator level experience with Windows Server.
• Understanding of networking concepts such as routing, DMZ’s and the functionality of common network appliances such as firewalls and load balancers.
• Demonstratable troubleshooting skills involving networking, server and application concepts.
• Knowledge of common file/data exchange protocols (FTP, SFTP, REST, web services).
• Knowledge of XML and JSON file types.
• Demonstration of developing improved processes.
• Strong communication and collaboration skills.
• Facilitation and negotiation skills.
• Willingness to learn new skills.

Beneficial Skills

• Knowledge of one or more of the following Axway products (B2Bi Express, Transfer CFT, Sentinel, API Manager/Amplify).
• Understanding of various file types and usage (X12, EDIFACT, flat files).
• EDI/Integration translations and implementation background.
• EDI document background: 810, 850, 856, 210, 214.
• Knowledge of EDI Specific Communication Methods (Odette FTP, AS2).
• Experience in automation of tasks and automation tools.
• Basic knowledge of containerization.
• Basic understanding of cloud computing concepts (AWS or Azure preferred).

Physical Job Requirements

• Sit for long periods of time.
• Continuous viewing from and inputting data to a computer screen.
