Integrated Support Specialist (Northeast Region NE)

About the role

The Integrated Support Specialist (Northeast Region NE) will serve as a member of Nebraska’s Multi-tiered System of Support (NeMTSS) team. They will collaborate with educational leadership teams in various settings to support the implementation of integrated PK-12 support systems.

Responsibilities

• Serve as the NeMTSS connector, developing and implementing a more comprehensive approach to education and service delivery.
• Connect regional providers, such as Early Learning Coordinators, ASD Network BCBAs, ESU Literacy Coaches, etc., with educational agencies needing their support.
• Provide support on-site and virtually to PK-12 educators to build local capacity.
• Collaborate with leadership teams to identify and plan for the implementation of high-leverage practices to enhance PK-12 student development.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in social work, education, psychology, child development, or related field and five (5) years of experience in education, working with PreK-12 educators, and/or in school district leadership.
• Experience which demonstrates high-level decisions impacting team policies and practices.
• Demonstrated experience implementing high-leverage instructional practices (HLPs) teaching students with special needs.
• Knowledge of Nebraska school systems.
• Independent problem-solving skills, data analysis skills, and strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Strong background in literacy and/or positive behavioral supports; knowledge of inclusionary instructional practices.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
• Detail-oriented, highly organized, and ability to keep accurate records.
• Demonstrated customer/client service skills.
• Ability to use word-processing and presentation software.
• Must have a valid driver’s license and meet university driver eligibility requirements.

Preferred Qualifications

• Master’s degree in social work, education, psychology, child development, or related field.
• Experience supervising staff; leading PK-12 educators in implementing high-leverage instructional practices (HLPs); delivering training/professional development to educators.
• Experience with and/or knowledge of adult learning or educational coaching.
• Strategic planning experience.

Paid Salary

$64,000/year minimum
