About the role
The position is part of an integrated co-teaching model designed to support students with disabilities in grades K-5. The teacher will work closely with general education teachers to provide specialized instruction and support.
Responsibilities
- Implementing individualized education plans (IEPs) for students with disabilities
- Collaborating with general education teachers to develop and implement effective teaching strategies
- Assessing student progress and adjusting instruction as needed
- Participating in team meetings and professional development activities
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Special Education or related field
- Current, valid New York State (NYS) certification in Special Education
- Fingerprint clearance
Qualifications
- Experience working with students with disabilities in a school setting
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
- Ability to work collaboratively with other educators and staff
Skills
- Knowledge of special education laws and regulations
- Proficiency in using assistive technology
- Ability to adapt teaching methods to meet diverse learning needs

Pay
Salary is determined according to the collective bargaining agreement and will be commensurate with experience and qualifications.
