About the Role

Amerita, Inc. is a leading provider in home infusion therapy. As an Intake Supervisor, you will report to the General Manager and work in our branch location. The home infusion market is positioned for rapid growth driven by the aging population, increase in chronic diseases, a robust pipeline of infusible drugs, and an industry shift from hospital to lower-cost, high-quality alternative providers. You will supervise all activities related to processing new referrals and ongoing coordination of patient customer service. Professional development and career progression discussions are provided.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure day-to-day branch operations align with goals for revenue growth, timely revenue recognition, and outstanding patient customer service.
  • Supervise intake processes, including patient registration, documentation, Ready to Bill management, resolution of unpaid balances, and patient care coordination.
  • Oversee intake personnel in verifying insurance, obtaining authorizations/re-authorizations, registering patients, and communicating with departments, patients, and payers about coverage and financial obligations.
  • Ensure insurance verification and authorization are completed before referrals are sent to a Pharmacist.
  • Monitor Ready to Bill daily to maintain unbilled inventory under 30 days, with minimal amounts over 14 days.
  • Keep staff updated on payer requirements, Amerita policies, CPR+ functions, and unbilled revenue management.
  • Conduct random audits of recent referrals to assess staff work quality.
  • Adhere to company policies and state/federal regulations, ensuring staff compliance.
  • Identify inefficient processes, monitor workload, and recommend improvements to the General Manager.
  • Participate in and coordinate training for new intake staff, including competency testing.
  • Communicate professionally in writing and verbally with internal and external customers.
  • Be available for extended hours to meet department deadlines when necessary.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma/GED or equivalent required; Associate’s degree or some college preferred.
  • Minimum of three (3) years of experience collecting referral information in the healthcare market.
  • Working knowledge of Managed Care, Commercial Insurance, Medicare, and Medicaid.
  • Home infusion experience a plus.
  • Solid Microsoft Office Suite skills.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to independently obtain and interpret information.
  • Knowledge of CPR+ software a plus.

Schedule

Monday–Friday, 8:30 AM–5:00 PM.
