Intake Representative - Primary Care

Responsibilities

• Interviews the patient or his/her representative to obtain identifying and verifying information.
• Obtains patient/s name, address, age, date of birth, social security number, occupation, insurance information and obtains authorization.
• Interfaces with the PBX operator and reception areas.
• Operates a computer to input and retrieve data.
• Communicates with the population served using age-specific techniques from neonatal to geriatrics.
• Maintain proficiency in medical terminology.
• Performs special projects or other assignments within a specified timeframe.

Qualifications

• Previous hospital experience as an admissions representative preferred.
• Knowledge of medical terminology preferred.
