Intake Mental Health Technician (7a-7p)

Position Summary

Perimeter Behavioral Hospital of Dallas is seeking an A&R Mental Health Technician to perform complex social, therapeutic, and psychosocial intake services for incarcerated individuals participating in our diversion program. This position works under the supervision of the Director of Intake and collaborates closely with A&R Clinicians and Registered Nurses to support patients throughout the admissions and intake process.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Assist A&R Clinicians and Registered Nurses with patient intake and admissions processes.
• Cook up and communicate with patients, families, referral sources, and community partners.
• Monitor and document patient care and activities.
• Aid with patient assessments and intake evaluations.
• Escort patients throughout the facility as needed.
• Support therapeutic and psychosocial services during the admission process.
• Maintain accurate and timely documentation.
• Demonstrate professionalism, empathy, and excellent customer service in all interactions.
• Adhere to hospital policies, procedures, and safety standards.

Qualifications

• A high school diploma or equivalent is required.
• Experience in behavioral health, mental health, social services, healthcare, or a related field is preferred.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills are necessary.
• The ability to work effectively with diverse patient populations is important.
• Strong organizational and documentation skills are required.
• Knowledge of behavioral health practices and patient care principles is preferred.
