Intake Counselor

Responsibilities

• Responsible for creating a welcoming and healing environment by providing quality, sufficient and appropriate clinical services and maintaining high professional standards.
• Completes required evaluations and assessments.
• Completes all intake/assessments on referrals.
• Documents all clinical services and interventions performed within the client’s electronic record.
• Maintains and schedules all FSD referrals from the DUI tracking system.
• Convenes with the Clinical Supervisor on a daily basis for casework.
• Participates in weekly treatment team meetings.
• Performs other duties as assigned by the Clinical Supervisor.

Requirements

• Minimum of an associate degree with CADC, or bachelor's degree REQUIRED: Bachelor’s degree in behavioral science or related field.
• REQUIREMENT: 1 year experience in the Substance Abuse Field and/or Mental Health.
• Within 2 years, must have obtained certification as CADC (Certified Alcohol and Drug Counselor).

Qualifications

Knowledge of Drug and alcohol treatment clinical practices.

Knowledge of population being served and available resources.

Ability to evaluate and screen clients for appropriate treatment and document progress of client.

May require crisis intervention to emergency situations.

Skill in establishing rapport with clients.

Ability to work independently and as part of a focused team.

Ability to communicate effectively orally and in writing.
