Qualifications
- Master’s degree in Social Work or a healthcare-related field with 2+ years of psychiatric experience, OR
- Bachelor’s degree in Social Work or a healthcare-related field (Psychology, Nursing, Counseling) with 5+ years of psychiatric experience, OR
- 10+ years of direct psychiatric or behavioral health experience.
- Strong knowledge of behavioral health levels of care, insurance authorization processes, and patient intake workflows.
- Excellent communication, documentation, and customer-service skills.

Key Responsibilities
- Serve as the primary point of contact for intake and referral inquiries, ensuring timely, accurate documentation and follow-up.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with referral sources, patients, families, and internal clinical teams.
- Review clinical information gathered during initial inquiries to assist in level-of-care determinations.
- Schedule face-to-face level-of-care assessments within 24 hours of initial contact.
- Communicate Beacon’s services clearly, including program offerings, admission criteria, regulatory requirements, and insurance considerations.
- Cook up with Nursing Leadership, Administration, and Physicians to review clinical and financial information prior to admission approval.
- Facilitate referrals to community-based or alternative levels of care when admission is not clinically appropriate.
- Guide patients and caregivers through the admission process, including obtaining required consents and documentation.
- Obtain insurance pre-certifications and collaborate with billing teams regarding payer requirements.
- Track and maintain referral data, providing weekly reports to leadership.
- Collect and document patient and physician feedback, contributing to quality improvement initiatives.
- Participate in performance improvement activities as directed by leadership.
