Intake Behavioral Healthcare Specialist / Mental Health Tech (FT-NOC)

About the role

Charter Oak Hospital is seeking a Behavioral Health Technician / Behavioral Health Specialist to join our Needs Assessment Department. This position is full-time, with 8-hour shifts, and requires weekend availability.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care to patients with emotional or psychiatric disorders
• Field phone calls and route calls as necessary
• Accompany and transport patients as assigned
• Perform clerical and administrative tasks to support patient care
• Support the department and perform other duties as assigned

Requirements

• High school degree, GED, or equivalent required
• Experience working in a hospital or psychiatric setting
• Excellent telephone etiquette and customer service skills
• Familiarity with medical and psychological terminology
• Basic knowledge of human behavior or principles of psychology
• Ability to maintain confidentiality and professional boundaries
• Current BLS for healthcare provider card upon hire
• Therapeutic Options™ (TOT) certification required before providing direct patient care
