INSURANCE VERIFICATION REPRESENTATIVE - Full Time Swing Shift
Responsibilities
The Insurance Verification Representative is responsible for verification of benefits for all hospital patients. They arrange for the efficient and orderly pre-admission of inpatients and outpatients, and ensure appropriate follow-up for emergency department admissions. They collect and inform patients about hospital policies and procedures. They interview incoming patients or their representatives and enter necessary information into the computer database. They distribute relevant information to ancillary departments and participate in performance improvement and CQI activities.
Requirements
- High school graduate or equivalent
- Basic knowledge of insurance billing required
- Comprehensive general clerical skills and computer literacy required
- Medical terminology required
