Overview

Insurance Verification Representative Performs insurance verification for all scheduled patient services and obtains required precertification in a multi-disciplinary environment.

Work Shift

This is an On-Site, Full Time position located within the Heart Hospital/Sentara Norfolk General Hospital, Norfolk, Virginia.

Hours for this position are Monday through Friday, Most days 7:30-16:00.

This position is not offered remotely.

Education

No specific certification or licensure requirements.

Experience

  • One year experience in healthcare environment
  • Completion of healthcare related certificate program
  • One year experience with medical insurance in a hospital or physician office
  • Transferable skills (i.e., 1 year or more in a call center, customer services, etc.)

Sentara Norfolk General Hospital, located in Norfolk, VA, is a 525-bed tertiary care facility that is home to the only Level I Adult Trauma Center and burn trauma unit in Hampton Roads, and also serves as the primary teaching hospital for Eastern Virginia Medical School.
