Job Duties
- Provide research, general advice, and interpretation of Medicare laws and federal regulations to Medicare beneficiaries and industry representatives.
- Communicate with Medicare beneficiaries through phone, email, and mail to provide accurate and unbiased information regarding Medicare benefits and coverage options.
- Utilize available research tools and Medicare resources to provide guidance and assistance to beneficiaries and insurance industry representatives.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of regulations and guidance issued by the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) and the Administration for Community Living (ACL) to ensure compliance with federal and state guidelines.
- Document client contacts and outreach activities by entering data into the SHIP Tracking and Reporting System (STARS) to support federal reporting and program performance measures.
- Respond to requests for Medicare-related publications received through phone calls and online SHIP services.
- Prepare written correspondence using Microsoft Word and other office software as needed.
- Aid in preparation of equipment and materials for scheduled outreach and educational events.
- Maintain office supplies and notify supervisors when additional materials need to be ordered.
- Perform other related duties and special projects as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications
- Two years of experience in administrative services.
- Every 15 semester hours earned from an accredited college or university will substitute for six months of the required experience.
