Insurance Defense Attorney

Kennedys is seeking dynamic and talented attorneys to join its national and international insurance defense practice. The position is based in Chicago, but the firm's culture fosters global collaboration daily. This role provides associates with an exciting opportunity to work on a team that serves as National Coordinating Counsel for multiple companies.

Responsibilities

• Propose litigation strategy for asbestos defense cases in Illinois
• Communicate with clients and opposing counsel
• Draft reports, pleadings, discovery, and motions
• Take and defend depositions
• Argue motions
• Participate in mediations

Requirements

• 1 to 5 years of experience in asbestos defense litigation throughout Illinois
• Admitted and in good standing in Illinois (additional admissions in other states a plus)
• 1920 billable hour requirement

Pay

Attorney compensation ranges from $125,000 to $160,000 annually, contingent upon level of experience, practice group, location, and other job-related factors permitted by law.
