Responsibilities

  • Represent insurance companies and their insureds in litigation matters involving trucking and other liability claims.
  • Draft and argue motions before the court.
  • Conduct and defend depositions.
  • Evaluate and resolve claims and lawsuits in a timely and cost-effective manner.
  • Negotiate settlements on behalf of clients.
  • Interact with clients, claims professionals, and opposing counsel regularly to ensure a proactive approach to litigation matters.
  • Conduct legal research and analysis of law sources such as statutes, recorded judicial decisions, legal articles, treaties, constitutions, and legal codes to prepare legal documents (briefs, pleadings, appeals, etc.).
  • Proactively manage a large caseload from case inception through trial or other resolution.

Requirements

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in insurance defense litigation, with a focus on trucking and liability claims.
  • Active member in good standing with the State Bar of FL.
  • Proven ability to handle a high volume of cases from inception through resolution.
  • Exceptional negotiation, research, and communication skills.
  • Proficiency in legal research tools and software.
  • Excellent analytical skills with sound judgment and decision-making abilities.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work effectively in a team-oriented setting.
  • Superior organizational skills to prioritize tasks, work on multiple assignments, and manage rapidly changing assignments.
  • Strong commitment to client service and demonstrated ability to manage and build client relationships.
  • Proven track record of courtroom success, including trial experience.
  • Ability to travel as needed for case management.

Pay

$100,000 - $180,000 per year
