Roles & Responsibilities
- Support attorneys from case intake and investigation through discovery, motion practice, trial preparation, post-trial matters, and appellate practice.
- Prepare, finalize, and file motions, discovery materials, agreements, pleadings, memoranda, and other legal documents in state and federal courts nationwide.
- Manage discovery, including subpoenas, witness coordination, depositions, discovery requests/responses, document review, production, privilege logs, and quality-control tasks using Relativity or similar e-discovery platforms.
- Conduct factual research and investigation using public records, court filings, case materials, Westlaw, and other legal research tools.
- Maintain organized case files, calendars, litigation databases, and deadlines while communicating professionally with clients, experts, witnesses, vendors, court personnel, and other contacts.
Qualifications
- Minimum 3 years of legal experience, preferably in litigation, insurance coverage, or a law firm environment.
- Strong ability to prioritize competing deadlines, manage multiple assignments, and work effectively in a fast-paced litigation environment.
- Excellent organizational, written, verbal communication, and independent problem-solving skills; detail-oriented and self-motivated.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, including Outlook, Word, and Excel; experience with e-filing, document management, legal research, or e-discovery platforms is a plus.
- Ability to exercise discretion when handling confidential, privileged, and sensitive information; four-year college degree and paralegal certificate preferred.
