Insurance Coverage Attorney

Responsibilities

• Analyze and interpret insurance policies, including commercial general liability, excess, umbrella, and professional liability policies
• Draft coverage opinions, reservation of rights letters, and declination letters
• Conduct legal research and provide strategic guidance on complex coverage matters
• Handle declaratory judgment actions and other coverage-related litigation
• Monitor and evaluate underlying litigation to identify potential coverage issues
• Collaborate with claims professionals, clients, and litigation teams
• Draft pleadings, motions, and legal memoranda
• Participate in mediations, depositions, and court appearances as needed

Qualifications

• J.D. from an accredited law school
• Licensed to practice law in New York and in good standing
• 15 years of relevant legal experience
• Experience in insurance coverage, insurance defense, commercial litigation, or related practice areas
• Strong legal research, writing, and analytical skills
• Excellent communication and client relationship abilities
• Ability to manage multiple assignments in a fast-paced environment

Pay

$110,000$130,000 + Performance-based bonus opportunities + Comprehensive benefits package
