Job Duties
- Business Development – New and Renewal
- Partners with the Producer and Account Executive to execute renewal and marketing strategies, ensuring timely preparation and submission of all marketing materials
- Manages new business submissions, gathering complete underwriting information and providing competitive quotes to the Producer and Account Executive
- Identifies and pursues opportunities to enhance client programs through risk assessments, additional coverages, endorsements, or policy upgrades
- Collaborates with the Producer to solicit additional lines of business at renewal
- Develops and maintains productive relationships with carrier representatives and underwriters to enhance favorable results for the agency and client
- Actively participates in agency meetings and professional development to remain current on market trends, legal changes, carrier appetite, and emerging coverage options
Client Interaction
- Serves as the primary day-to-day contact for the client, providing timely and professional responses to inquiries and requests
- Proactively manages client relationships, ensuring all service standards are met
- Handles policy changes, such as adding or removing vehicles, equipment, and locations, and payroll changes
- Provides clear, accurate insurance information to guide the client to informed decisions
- Coincides with the Producer and Account Executive on communication regarding complex and strategic client matters
Team Collaboration
- Supports agency profitability and efficiency by adhering to established workflows and use of technology
- Accurately maintains all client, carrier, and prospect records within the agency management system
- Collaborates with internal team members, underwriters, and leadership to resolve service issues promptly and effectively
Job Requirements
- 3-7 years of insurance industry experience, with at least 2 years in Commercial Lines account management
- Strong working knowledge of commercial coverages, risk management principles, and carrier underwriting practices
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook) and agency management system: proficiency with AMS360 is preferred
- Highly organized, detail-oriented, and capable of managing multiple priorities under time constraints
- Self-directed, resourceful, and capable of working with minimal supervision
- Ability to collaborate in a team environment and accept coaching and guidance from leadership
- College degree preferred
- Licenses and Designations:
- Property & Casualty Producer License (Required)
- CWCA and CLCS designations (preferred)
- CRIS or CIC (preferred)
