Duties/Responsibilities
- Research and resolve unpaid claims in established timeframe
- Research and resolve claims found in all assigned workqueues in established timeframes
- Research and resolve clearinghouse rejection/denials
- Maintain current knowledge of covered and non-covered CPT and ICD 10 coding by using monthly payer bulletins and updates provided by Team Lead, Supervisor or Manager
- Maintain, update and distribute insurance participation lists
- Submit appeals as needed
- Communicate issues with provider reps as needed
- Maintain incoming mail and/or fax communications which includes reviewing, distributing and uploading as needed
- Follow established policies, control processes, procedure and guidelines
- Check email frequently throughout the day to ensure all communications are received
Requirements
- Strong problem-solving skills
- Possess strong computer skills, including proficiency in Excel
- Demonstrate excellent oral and written communication skills in order to effectively communicate with patients, physicians, peers, insurance companies and pharmacy personnel
- Have a broad knowledge of medical terminology
- The ability to prioritize and multi-task and must be able to function in a fast paced, at times, stressful environment
- Be able to function independently and as part of a team
- Proficient in EPIC
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- At least 2 years related experience required
- Highest level of responsibility: Entry level (1-4 years experience) and/or meet the basic requirements of the job with the need for additional supervision
Hours
Monday – Friday 8:00am – 4:30pm
Pay
From $19.00 - $31.00 per hour, depending on experience

Qualifications
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Excellent customer service skills are required
- MS Office experience, particularly in MS Word and MS Excel
- Ability to type at least 30 wpm
- Prior appeals experience electronically and ability to obtain claim status
- The ability to multi-task and work in fast-paced environment
- Detail-oriented
- Basic understanding of healthcare plans
- Be able to read and understand medical benefits
- Bilingual is a plus
- Medical terminology (CPT, ICD 10) knowledge
Education
- High school diploma or equivalent
Experience
- 2-4 years of prior insurance experience is preferred.
- Prior appeals experience electronically and ability to obtain claim status needed.
