Major Import & Export Trading Company is seeking an experienced Insurance Claims Specialist to manage complex multi-line claims. This role handles Marine Cargo, Property & Casualty, Auto, Workers’ Compensation, and Liability claims. You will coordinate with brokers, carriers, legal teams, and internal stakeholders. The ideal candidate has 7+ years of claims experience and strong policy interpretation skills.
Responsibilities
- Manage end-to-end claims handling across:
- Marine cargo / inland transit
- Commercial property and general liability
- Automobile (fleet and HNOA)
- Workers’ Compensation (WC)
- Litigated liability claims (bodily injury and third-party property damage)
- Review insurance policies to assess coverage, exclusions, deductibles, and retentions
- Coordinate with brokers, carriers, adjusters, and internal legal counsel
- Draft claim notifications and ensure compliance with policy timelines and requirements
- Support contract review by evaluating insurance clauses (limits, additional insured, waiver of subrogation) and identifying potential risk or coverage gaps
- Prepare loss history reports, reserves, and claim summaries to support insurance renewals
- Collaborate with Legal, Operations, and Business Units to resolve claims efficiently
- Participate in claim reviews and recovery strategy discussions
- Support special insurance-related projects as assigned by management
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Insurance, Business, or related field (or equivalent experience)
- Minimum 7+ years of insurance claims experience across multiple P&C lines, including marine and litigated claims
- Strong understanding of insurance policy language, ISO forms, and manuscript policies
- Experience with contractual risk transfer and insurance clause analysis
- Experience coordinating with external counsel and claims adjusters
- Proficiency with claims management systems, Microsoft Word and Excel, and document management tools
- Strong attention to detail and sound judgment in risk evaluation
- Ability to manage multiple priorities independently and meet deadlines
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to work effectively in a multicultural business environment
Preferred Qualifications
- CPCU, ARM, or AIC designation
Pay
80,000 to 100,000 USD per year
