Insurance Claims Entry Specialist

About the role

We are seeking a friendly, knowledgeable insurance & claims entry specialist to manage all aspects of patient insurance and clinical pathology claims.

Responsibilities

• Obtain and verify patient insurance and claim information on clinical pathology orders.
• Post electronic payments and handle appeals.
• Cover phones and sort mail as needed.

Requirements

• Communication and insurance knowledge required.
• Medical terminology preferred.
• Works well with others.
• Must be proficient in operating a computer and essential office equipment.
• Prior experience with PowerPath, Allscripts, PowerChart, or similar medical billing systems is a plus.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• One year of customer service experience preferred.

Skills

• Excellent communication skills.
• Knowledge of insurance processes.
• Ability to handle medical terminology.
• Basic computer skills.
• Experience with relevant medical billing software.
