About the Role
The Insurance Case Manager Lead acts as a support to the Insurance Case Management team by teaching training and developing staff members. Schedule: Monday – Friday; 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM Minimum Qualifications: Experience/Education: High school diploma or equivalent. 2 years of medical insurance case management experience required or equivalent competency. Proficient at partner programs (i.e.: MS Outlook, Word, Excel). Ability to cope with ambiguous, changing environment while under pressure in a calm manner. Must be able to work as a team member and develop productive and cooperative working relationships with all members of the Palmetto Infusion.
- Serves as a resource to Insurance Case Managers by teaching, training, and developing fellow teammates.
- Affords assistance in training new staff members.
- Participates in the orientation new staff members.
- Affords assistance to the department Supervisor in managing workflow of the team members, running daily, weekly, monthly reports.
- Ensures timely acceptance and completion of new orders, monthly insurance verifications and authorization recertifications for existing patients.
- Understands payor coverage principles and requirements for denial letters.
- Performs all other duties, special projects, and additional tasks as assigned.
- Communicates with peers, supervisors, and other employees in a non-threatening manner.
- Maintains calm under pressure to cope with changing environment.
- Takes initiative to present ideas and suggestions to leadership.
- Demonstrates strong problem-solving skills, strategic thinking skills, and servant leadership.
- Maintains knowledge and proficiency in medical practices through continuing education, staff meetings, and workshops, and home study.
