What You'll Do
- C Conduct field appraisals of state-owned buildings throughout the Commonwealth of Kentucky.
- Determine replacement values for state-owned structures.
- Measure buildings, prepare scaled drawings, photograph structures, and collect detailed property information.
- Travel extensively throughout Kentucky, including frequent overnight travel.
Preferred Qualifications
- Proficiency with Microsoft Excel.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints with basic AutoCAD experience.
- Strong ability to work independently and manage multiple projects.
- Excellent organizational skills and exceptional attention to detail.
- Outstanding verbal and written communication skills.
- Experience in commercial or property appraisals is preferred.

Minimum Requirements
- EDUCATION: Must have two years of college.
- EXPERIENCE, TRAINING, OR SKILLS: Four years of professional experience in real property appraisals, property valuation appraisals, property claims adjustment, real estate appraisal, drafting or Computer-Aided Design (CAD), mechanical or electrical engineering technician, or a related field.
- SUBSTITUTE EDUCATION FOR EXPERIENCE: Additional training in property insurance or real estate will substitute for the experience on a year-for-year basis.
- SUBSTITUTE EXPERIENCE FOR EDUCATION: Professional experience in property valuation or in an insurance regulatory entity will substitute for the college on a year-for-year basis.

Working Conditions
- Extensive travel and overnight stay is required to conduct field inspections.
Probationary Period
- This job has an initial and promotional probationary period of 6 months, except as provided in KRS 18A.111.
