About the role

Shelter Insurance is seeking an entrepreneurial individual to become a Shelter Insurance Agent in Jenks, OK. The role focuses on meeting new people, developing contacts, and becoming a known presence in the community while building a personal insurance agency. No prior insurance experience is required; the company provides extensive training and support to launch and grow the business.

Responsibilities

• Develop and nurture prospects within the community.
• Sell Shelter Insurance products through your own agency.
• Meet sales requirements and core business proficiencies set by Shelter.
• Optionally recruit and manage staff to handle administrative duties and boost sales.
• Maintain financial obligations such as advertising contracts, telephone bills, and utilities if the agency is discontinued.

Requirements

• Motivated attitude and entrepreneurial spirit.
• Strong communication skills for a sales environment.
• Desire to control your own income and grow a business.
• Sales experience is helpful but not mandatory.
• A degree with general business courses is advantageous.

Qualifications

• No prior insurance background required; half of new agents have never worked in insurance.
• Backgrounds may include real estate, retail sales, education, coaching, or other fields.
• Eligibility to work in the United States.
• No capital or assets required to start; Shelter does not sell agencies or provide loans.
