About the role
Shelter Insurance is seeking an entrepreneur to launch and operate a Shelter Insurance Agency in Centralia, MO. This is a business ownership opportunity — you will develop prospects, sell Shelter products, and build your own agency with the backing of a national carrier. No prior insurance experience is required; approximately half of new agents come from backgrounds such as real estate, retail sales, education, and coaching. Shelter does not sell agencies, require upfront capital, or loan money to start. Financial obligations are limited to any unsatisfied bills (e.g., advertising contracts, telephone, utilities) upon departure. Agents may hire staff to handle administrative duties and support sales growth.
Requirements
- Motivated attitude and entrepreneurial spirit
- Strong communication skills for a sales environment
- Sales experience (helpful, not required)
- Degree with general business coursework (helpful, not required)
- Eligibility to work in the United States
- Willingness to meet sales requirements and core business proficiencies
