About the role

Shelter Insurance is seeking an entrepreneurial individual to become a Shelter Insurance Agent in Ashland, OH. The role involves building your own insurance agency, developing new contacts, serving the community, and growing sales and networking skills. No prior insurance background is required; approximately half of new agents come from other fields such as real estate, retail, education, or coaching. Shelter provides training, support, and the opportunity to launch your business without requiring upfront capital or loans.

Responsibilities

• Develop prospects and sell Shelter products as the primary focus of your agency.
• Optionally hire staff to handle general administrative duties and support sales growth.
• Meet sufficient sales requirements and maintain core business proficiencies.
• Manage agency finances; upon departure, financial responsibilities are limited to any unsatisfied bills (e.g., advertising contracts, telephone, utilities).

Requirements
