About the role
HealthMarkets is a technology‑enabled health insurance agency that provides high‑touch, customized health and supplemental insurance solutions to individuals, families, and small businesses. As an independent contractor licensed insurance agent, you will collaborate with one of the largest independent health insurance agencies in the United States, grow your own business, and make a difference in people’s lives.
Responsibilities
- Collaborate with HealthMarkets to develop and expand a personal insurance business.
- Sell health and supplemental insurance products to individuals, families, and small businesses.
- Utilize provided leads, quoting tools, and training resources to generate and close sales.
- Maintain compliance with state licensing requirements and agency policies.
Requirements
- 4–5 years of experience as an insurance agent.
- Current insurance license appropriate for the products you will sell.
- Ability to operate as an independent contractor (self‑employed).
Qualifications
- Independent contractor status; not an employee of HealthMarkets.
- Commission‑only compensation model.
- Eligibility to sell in states where HealthMarkets is licensed (except Massachusetts).
Skills
- Strong sales and relationship‑building abilities.
- Proficiency with quoting and lead‑generation tools.
- Self‑motivation and ability to manage an independent business.
