Overview The Insulation Technician is an individual contributor position familiar with the craft discipline and is recognized for possessing a mechanical aptitude and safe work ethic within our CB&I Storage Solutions Insulation Group. The role is responsible for maintaining industrial/construction equipment, as well as set up and operation of machinery in the field used to insulate various CB&I Storage Tanks both domestically and internationally while observing and complying with all CB&I safety procedures. Willingness to learn and work independently with minimal supervision. The role reports to the Insulation Manager. Responsibilities Basic equipment maintenance and electrical troubleshooting.Mechanical aptitude - experience working on a variety of motors, pumps or compressorsPolyurethane foam and or paint spraying.Equipment shipments, set-up, operation and breakdown on site.Installation of Proprietary Insulation Systems on Storage Tanks.Follow and promote safety first work ethicCoordinate with other roles and functions on project teams HSES, Construction Managers, Clients.Forecast how long it will take to do a task - commit to definitive deadlines.Generate improvement ideas for tools and workflow associated to the role.Ability to obtain a TWIC cardAbility to travel 50% Local Requirements Techninican will be located in Plainfield, IL and initally suport the Cryogenics Test Lab The Role Requires The Following Use of computer software, including Microsoft ExcelPreparation of test samplesMounting samples in test equipmentOperation of test equipmentAcquisition and preparation of test data in spreadsheetsObserve laboratory safety procedures including use of appropriate personal protective equipment Qualifications 2+ years of relevant working experience construction, mechanical or insulation type role or technical school.High School diploma or equivalent is required.Basic computer knowledge - Microsoft OfficeExcellent verbal and written communication skills.Field crew experience- supervisory a plusExcellent time management Organizational Structure and Location Organizational level: T2Reports to: Manager EngineeringPermanent Work Location: IBC Plainfield, IL OfficeMay be temporarily assigned to Project SitesCommon Performance MetricsLeadership - Having vision and drive; taking initiative and motivating others.Quality - Consistent quality of deliverables.Efficiency - Meeting deadlines and staying within budget, leading team mates by example.Teamwork - Communicating pertinent information and questions to project team including technical content, workflow, scheduling with advanced written and verbal communication skills.Forecasting - Making accurately forecasted commitments to the project team and upholding those commitments.
