About the role
We are seeking an experienced Instrumentation & Tubing Superintendent to lead and manage all field activities related to instrumentation installation, tubing fabrication, testing, and commissioning support on the Samsung Semiconductor project in Taylor, Texas. This role is critical to ensuring precision, quality, and schedule compliance on a complex, high-purity manufacturing facility.
Responsibilities
- Supervise all on-site instrumentation and tubing construction activities
- Manage foremen, craft labor, and specialty subcontractors
- Oversee installation of:
- Instrumentation and control devices
- High-purity tubing (SS, copper, and specialty materials)
- Valves, regulators, transmitters, analyzers, and manifolds
- Ensure tubing installation meets cleanliness, orbital welding, testing, and QA/QC standards
- Cook up coordination of tubing fabrication, flushing, pressure testing, and documentation
- Work closely with project management, electrical, mechanical, and process teams
- Enforce site safety policies and conduct daily toolbox talks
- Review drawings, isometrics, P&IDs, and specifications
- Identify constructability issues and resolve field conflicts
- Cook up coordination of inspections, turnover packages, and commissioning support
- Maintain daily reports, manpower tracking, and progress updates
Requirements
- 8–10+ years of experience in instrumentation and tubing construction
- Prior superintendent or lead supervisory experience on industrial or semiconductor projects
- Strong understanding of:
- Instrumentation installation and calibration basics
- High-purity tubing systems and cleanliness protocols
- Orbital welding and tubing QA/QC
- Pressure testing and documentation requirements
- Ability to read and interpret P&IDs, isometrics, and control drawings
- Strong leadership and communication skills
- OSHA 30 (or ability to obtain)
- Ability to work extended hours as required by project demands
Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor's degree in Engineering or related field preferred
- Experience: 8–10+ years of experience in instrumentation and tubing construction
- Skills: Strong understanding of instrumentation installation and calibration basics, high-purity tubing systems and cleanliness protocols, orbital welding and tubing QA/QC, pressure testing and documentation requirements, ability to read and interpret P&IDs, isometrics, and control drawings, strong leadership and communication skills, OSHA 30 (or ability to obtain), ability to work extended hours as required by project demands

Pay
