About the role

This onsite position pays $33.97/hour and involves troubleshooting and repairing electronic equipment used by the Gas Operating Department, maintaining inventories, and supporting various operational tasks.

Responsibilities

• Install and remove Plant Accounting tags, recording new and retired equipment.
• Test, calibrate, and repair instruments such as combustible gas indicators, asset locators, fusion processors, and Fluke testing equipment.
• Test and calibrate pressure and temperature recording gauges and indicating gauges.
• Complete repair and calibration forms accurately and enter repairs into a database.
• Maintain inventories of instrument supplies and replacement parts.
• Prepare material and purchase requisitions as needed.
• Inspect vendor-supplied materials for damage and accuracy.
• Pick up and deliver instruments from various headquarters as required.
• Assist control technicians in their duties when needed.
• Calculate and inject odorant, and perform odorometer tests throughout the gas system.
• Participate in company or department training programs.
• Train by assisting in jobs of a higher classification.
• Perform other similar or less skilled work as assigned.

Requirements

• At least 30 quarter credits from an accredited engineering college in electrical or electronic engineering technology or a similar field.
• Formal continuing education in electrical or electronic engineering technology, or an Associate Degree (or equivalent credit hours) in electrical engineering technology or a similar degree from an accredited engineering college.
• Ability to read blueprints and electrical/electronic schematic diagrams.
• Familiarity with and willingness to practice safety requirements applicable to the job.
• Willingness to work at any hour when called upon.
• Valid driver’s license.
• Good personal appearance and no defects in sight, hearing, or sense of smell.
• Ability to move heavy odorant or test gas cylinders using a moving dolly.
• Dependability and accuracy when working alone.
• Must pass the EEI Technical Test.

5-15% travel required.
