About the role

Responsibilities

  • Operate GPS equipment, total stations, and other surveying instruments to collect field data.
  • Aid the Survey Crew Chief with boundary, topographic, construction, and utility surveys.
  • Maintain and calibrate survey equipment to ensure proper functionality.
  • Perform manual labor, including staking, marking, and setting up equipment.
  • Record field notes and maintain accurate documentation.
  • Ensure all field work is completed safely, accurately, and efficiently.
  • Communicate effectively with team members and project supervisors.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
  • Operate tools requiring fine motor skills.
  • Traverse construction sites having uneven terrain, slopes, confined spaces, or reinforced trenches.
  • Position self to access tools and materials in various locations.
  • Ascend/descend into job site areas to complete inspections and data collection.
  • Travel, including overnight stays, may be required.
  • Remain in stationary position for extended periods.
  • Moves materials weighing up to 50 pounds periodically.

Requirements

  • 6 months to 1 year of survey experience preferred; entry-level candidates considered.
  • Possession of a valid driver’s license with a clean driving record and the ability to operate a motor vehicle is required.
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Suite Products (e.g. Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint, SharePoint, OneDrive, etc).
  • Familiarity with GPS, total stations, and data collectors preferred.
  • Primarily field-based role must be comfortable working outdoors in all weather conditions.

Qualifications

  • Full-time position with schedule flexibility based on project demands.
  • May be required to work onsite at a WSB office, as needed, as required by the project, client, or hiring manager.
  • Reliable transportation required and the ability to travel daily within assigned territory.

Skills
