Essential Functions
- Setup, maintenance, and operation of all field survey equipment
- Operation of survey instruments in the field including total stations, levels, data collectors, GPS, and other standard survey equipment
- Prepare survey sites and remove all obstacles, including debris, brush, tree limbs, etc.
- Maintain neat and accurate field records and survey notes
- Aid the Crew Chief in field day-to-day operations
- Maintain field vehicles and supplies
- Upload and download data collection information and photographs
- All other duties as assigned
Qualifications
- Minimum of 1 year surveying experience, with the ability to demonstrate a working knowledge of surveying equipment
- Must be detail oriented, with the ability to perform basic mathematical calculations
- Must be available to work overtime as needed, and be available for travel for overnight assignments
- Must possess a HS Diploma or equivalent
- AAS in Surveying a plus
- May be able to obtain OSHA training within a reasonable period of time
- Must possess a valid, clean, driver’s license
Physical Requirements
- Constantly required to assume a stationary position for prolonged periods of time
- Frequent handling of inspect, and/or feel documents, materials, and/or equipment relevant to the job
- Frequent communication using the Corporate e-mail and telephone systems
- Frequent moving around on the job-site, including ascending or descending the landscape, and positioning themselves appropriately to access necessary materials and equipment
- Frequent lifting and/or moving equipment up to 25 lbs., and occasionally lifting and/or moving equipment up to 75 lbs.
- Regularly operating a motor-vehicle, which may require remaining stationary for extended periods of time
- Close vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus are required for this position in order to detect non-conformities
