Responsibilities
- Load, unload, inspect, and maintain survey equipment.
- Operate data collectors, Total Stations, Robotic Total Stations, levels, and GPS-RTK Receivers.
- Perform field work to ascertain precise measurements and locations of natural features and man-made structures.
- Conduct construction staking for streets, utilities, drains, and lot layouts.
- Compile detailed notes, sketches, and records of survey data, ensuring accuracy and completeness.
- Provide guidance and direction to Rodmen and less experienced crew members.
- Perform minor field calculations and spatial data analysis.
- Afford assistance to the Party Chief in addressing moderately complex issues and running the crew in their absence.
- Adhere to safety protocols and ensure the crew complies with project requirements.
Qualifications
- A high school diploma or GED certification.
- At least 2 years of experience in land surveying or a related role.
- Experience with Leica and/or Trimble.
- Proficiency in operating and obtaining land survey data using advanced surveying instruments.
- Ability to perform and analyze technical calculations independently.
- Working knowledge of land surveying procedures and relevant equipment.
- Ability to address basic field issues and escalate more complex problems appropriately.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Physical ability to lift and carry survey equipment up to 35 lbs. and work in various terrains and weather conditions.
- Dependable, team-oriented, and capable of occasional leadership within the field crew.
