About the role

The purpose of this position is to perform Instrument & Controls technical and analytical services essential to maintaining reliable operation of the Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport (HJAIA) Backup Generation System (PowerSecure PowerBlock Diesel Generator Sets).

Responsibilities

  • Maintain, test, and troubleshoot all equipment on the PowerBlock up to and including the customer delivery point.
  • Use a variety of hand tools, power tools, test, and measurement equipment in the performance of duties.
  • Apply principles of logical thinking and deal with difficult situations.
  • Define problems, collect data, establish facts, and execute solutions.
  • Communicate with timeliness, clarity, and professionalism to internal and external stakeholders.

Requirements

  • Job Experience and Education:
    • An approved two-year technical degree from a certified technical institution or transcript showing completion of approved Military Technical Training is required.
    • Strong knowledge of I&C equipment/technologies (including Controls, Distributed Controls Systems, PLCs, etc.) is preferred.
    • Electrical background is preferred.
    • Mechanical skills and experience with diesel engines are a plus.

Pre-Employment Requirements

  • Possess a valid driver's license.
  • Pass a drug test and FBI background investigation.

Skills

  • Superior interpersonal skills; proven written and oral communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as an effective team member.
  • Competency with computer software & Web-based applications such as Microsoft Office products, work order management systems, and trending tools.
  • Maximo experience is a plus.
