Instrument Controls Electrician
The Role
The Headlines In the role of an Instrumentation Controls Electrician working at the RMMC End Plant, you will perform electrical, electrical controls, instrumentation and instrumentation control duties and some mechanical duties such as set-up, adjustment, calibrate, tune, and troubleshoot, Preventative Maintenance inspections and Overhaul. Acts as a resource for the maintenance team when electrical/control escalation triggers occur - prior to calling in a Senior Electrician. This role reports to the Asset Care Manager - Ends.
Responsibilities
- Troubleshoot and support RMMC End Plant Production Equipment in the Electrical Trade discipline.
- Cook up and make recommendations to Inventory Control and production to help determine spare parts requirements.
- Gather information, troubleshoot the problem, and resolve the failure in a timely manner to minimize downtime.
- Proactively performs preventive and predictive maintenance on equipment, while being an active contributor and supporter of the Asset Care program.
- Participates in maintenance planning and execution for equipment and processes to ensure that overhauls, rebuilds, shutdowns are completed on schedule and within budget constraints, while maintaining equipment reliability until the next scheduled downtime.
- Must be knowledgeable of microprocessor-based systems including computers, distributed control systems and programmable logic controllers. Demonstrates ability to troubleshoot and repair systems in a high-speed production environment.
Qualifications
- Minimum HS diploma or GED required.
- CCST Level II or equivalent desired.
- Industrial Journeyman level and/or on-the-job experience with heavy industrial Electrical, Electrical Controls, Instrumentation and PLC’s.
- Must be proficient troubleshooting electrical controls, PLC programs and processor-based program/diagnostic panels.
- Experience with Delta V or similar distributive control systems preferred.
- Experienced in the safe use of the following: test instruments (volt/ohm multi-meters, clamp-on amp meters, meggers, transducers, oscilloscopes), hand tools specific to electrical/electronic/controls field as well as mechanical hand tools.
- Must be able to read and understand blueprints, schematics and PLC ladder logic along with the experience to locate and retrieve electric prints and programs using Team Center Work.

Shift: 12 hour weekly Rotating 4x4
