Location
The primary location for job responsibilities is at 1000 Chastain Road NW, Kennesaw, GA 30144. The Marietta campus is located at 1100 South Marietta Parkway, Marietta, GA 30060.
Department Information
- Provides quality and technically relevant instruction in Phlebotomy Technician best practices
- Describes effective infection control in the healthcare setting
- Defines the structure of the cardiovascular system, to include the associated medical terms, disorders, and diagnostic tests
- Obtains non-blood specimens competently
- Demonstrates common blood collection procedures
Required Qualifications
- Must hold expert knowledge in medical lab procedures, cardiology, & medical terminology
- Must be comfortable with teaching in classroom and on a distance learning platform
- Five (5) years of experience as a credentialed Phlebotomy Technician, credentialed Medical Assistant, LPN, or RN
Additional Preferred Qualifications
- Previous Teaching experience
- Able to handle multiple tasks or projects at one time meeting assigned deadlines
- Able to motivate students to actively participate in all aspects of the educational process
- Able to review syllabus and learning outcomes the first night of class
- Able to provide sufficient time for students to complete course evaluations
- Able to respond to student inquiries in a timely manner
Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities
- Familiarity with all emergency procedures posted in the classroom
- Excellent interpersonal, initiative, teamwork, problem solving, independent judgment, organization, communication (verbal and written), time management, project management and presentation skills
- Proficient with computer applications and programs associated with the position (i.e., Microsoft Office suite)
- Strong attention to detail and follow up skills
- Strong customer service skills and phone and e-mail etiquette
