Job Summary

Classroom instructor teaching 1-3 classes per week, each with an approximate 3-5 hour block. Pharmacy Classes include: PHT 102: Pharmacy Practice and Health Care, PHT 104: Pharmacology for Pharmacy Technicians, PHT 114: Community Pharmacy Simulation Lab, PHT 116: Community Pharmacy Practicals, PHT 122: Advanced Pharmacy Practices (Winter semester only), PHT 124: Hospital Pharmacy Simulation Lab, PHT 126: Hospital Pharmacy Practicals.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in pharmacy
  • Current and valid pharmacy license

Preferred Qualifications

  • Two (2) years college level teaching experience
  • Doctorate degree in pharmacy

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to read, analyze and interpret complex documents
  • Ability to respond effectively to sensitive inquiries or complaints
  • Ability to write speeches, presentations and articles using original or innovative techniques or style
  • Ability to make effective and persuasive speeches and presentations on controversial or complex topics to top management, public groups, and/or boards of trustees
  • Ability to work with mathematical concepts that apply to the practice of Pharmacy
  • Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations
  • Ability to apply principles of logical or scientific thinking to a wide range of intellectual and practical problems
  • Ability to deal with a variety of abstract and concrete variables
  • Ability to stand, use hands to handle or feel, and talk or hear
  • Occasionally reach with hands and arms, walk, sit, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl
  • Occasionally lift up to 10 lbs., seldom 25 lbs
  • Close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and the ability to adjust focus
  • Work in a laboratory environment
  • Correctly follow all safety rules and regulations, operate appropriate laboratory equipment and tolerate the presence of laboratory chemicals
  • Work in a moderate noise environment
