Job Summary

Classroom Instructor

Job Duties

• Teach art courses at the college level
• Develop and implement lesson plans
• Mentor students and provide feedback
• Assess student progress and provide feedback

Required Qualifications

• MFA in Art or a Masters and a minimum of 18 graduate credit hours in Art
• Two (2) years college level teaching experience preferred

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience teaching at the college level
• Experience with curriculum development
• Experience with student assessment

Physical Requirements

• Regularly stand, use hands to handle or feel, and talk or hear
• Sometimes stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl
• Occasionally lift up to 10 lbs.

Reasoning Ability

• Apply principles of logical or scientific thinking to a wide range of intellectual and practical problems
• Deal with nonverbal symbolism in its most difficult phases
• Deal with a variety of abstract and concrete variables

Work Environment

• May work near moving mechanical parts
• May work in a laboratory setting
• Must be able to correctly follow all safety rules and regulations, operate appropriate laboratory equipment, and tolerate the presence of laboratory chemicals
• The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate
