About the role
This role is responsible for delivering standardized, high-fidelity medical training, operating simulation systems, maintaining certifications, and supporting training execution in accordance with contractual performance standards.
Essential Functions
Training Delivery:
- Deliver TC3 training across all four tiers: All Service Members (ASM/Tier I), Combat Lifesaver (CLS/Tier II), Combat Medic (CM/Tier III), and Combat Paramedic (CP/Tier IV)
- Instruct 68W Combat Medic sustainment training and CLS initial/sustainment training to non-medical personnel
- Conduct training in classroom, laboratory, and field training/evaluation environments
- Maintain proper instructor-to-student ratios per MEDCoE directives
- Assess students' critical thinking and psychomotor skills under high-fidelity simulated conditions
- Support a projected minimum throughput of at least 2,500 68W students annually across all MSTC sites
Scenario Development & Execution:
- Utilize approved scenario-based training per course Training Circulars or as approved by the medical proponent
- Apply moulage techniques, environmental control, and theatrical special effects to simulate realistic injuries and environments
- Audit students using grading sheets for individual scenarios
- Ensure all training content is approved by the appropriate medical proponent (MTN, Deployed Medicine, CMSD)
Simulation Operations:
- Operate MSTC systems (ISS, VPS, MT-C2)
- Configure and execute realistic training scenarios
- Apply moulage and simulation effects
Training Evaluation & Reporting:
- Contribute to Monthly Staffing Report (MSR) data as required
- Document and report accidents/incidents
- Maintain training records, student evaluations, and AAR documentation
Equipment Maintenance:
- Operate and perform operator-level preventive maintenance on assigned patient simulators, manikins, medical training equipment
- Follow OEM instructions for handling MSTC equipment requiring extended service agreement repair
- Inventory and manage consumable items (skins, synthetic blood, PMCS kits)
- Notify the COR when consumables are required
- Initiate fielded equipment repair/condition status reports and keep the TOR and APM/COR apprised of equipment issues
- Notify the W-TRS maintainer (via ACA) for equipment failures outside extended service agreement coverage
Quality & Compliance:
- Participate in Quality Control Plan (QCP) activities including peer observations, self-assessments, and After-Action Reviews (AARs)
- Maintain all certifications current throughout the contract — no lapsed credentials
- Complete annual TC 8-800 recertification (all tables)
- Participate in enterprise quality initiatives including instructor development programs and cross-site standardization
Competencies
- Experience reviewing documents, maintaining electronic files, and managing spreadsheets, tracking logs, suspense actions, or similar records.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, and standard office equipment.
- Strong organizational, data-entry, written communication, grammar, spelling, punctuation, and customer-service skills.
- Ability to manage multiple records and deadlines and communicate professionally with military, civilian, medical, recruiting, and contractor personnel.
- Ability to learn Government information systems and Army applicant-processing procedures.
- Ability to read, write, speak, and understand English.
- Experience supervising training or instructional staff.
- Proficiency in conflict resolution and team management.
- Strong oral and written communication skills.
- Resolve administrative and minor performance issues.
- Ensure timely completion of reports, rosters, and deliverables.
- Experience overseeing adherence to training standards, security protocols, and classroom requirements.
Qualifications
- Required Military/Medical Background Must Meet ONE Of The Following:
- Former 68W or 18D Noncommissioned Officer (NCO), Advanced Leader Course (ALC) Graduate
- Navy Enlisted Classification (NEC) 8404 or Navy Independent Duty Corpsman, E-6 or above
- Air Force 4NOX1 or Aerospace Medical Service (4NOX1), E-6 or above
- Currently licensed Registered Nurse (RN), Physician Assistant (PA), or Physician (MD/DO)
- National Registry Emergency Medical Technician (NREMT) at the EMT level or higher
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
- Prior experience in MSTC operations, high-fidelity medical simulation, TC3 instruction, 68W sustainment training, moulage, equipment maintenance, and training documentation is strongly preferred.
- Candidate should be capable of instructing mixed-experience military populations in classroom, laboratory, and field environments while maintaining compliance with medical proponent standards, contract requirements, and certification obligations.
Additional Eligibility Qualifications
- Complete Level 1 Antiterrorism Awareness Training within 30 calendar days
- Complete iWatch Training within 30 calendar days
- Complete Level 1 OPSEC Training within 30 calendar days of reporting for duty, with annual refresher
- Register in Army Training Certification Tracking System (ATCTS) and complete DoD Cybersecurity training annually
- Complete annual SHARP (Sexual Harassment/Assault Response and Prevention) training
- Comply with All Native Group on-boarding LMS
- OCONUS positions: Complete AOR-specific AT Awareness Training per AR 525-13
- Comply with all CUI handling requirements per DODI 5200.48
- Comply with HAZMAT management requirements per applicable OSHA, EPA, and military regulations
- Complete and certify IAW TC8-800 within 30 days of starting
- Security Clearance Must be eligible for and obtain a Common Access Card (CAC) — requires minimum Tier 1 (T1) investigation
