About the role
Ball State University is seeking a part-time, non-tenure-track position for an Instructor of English to teach 1-3 classes Fall 2026 semester in our award-winning writing program. This position will serve a Fall 2026 term with possibility of renewal dependent upon enrollment need and funding availability.
Duties And Responsibilities
- Teach 1-3 classes Fall 2026 semester in our award-winning writing program.
Qualifications
- Master’s degree in English, Rhetoric and Composition, or related field from an accredited college or university by date of appointment.
- One year experience teaching writing at the college level.
Preferred Qualifications
- ABD or terminal degree in English, Rhetoric and Composition, or related field from an accredited college or university by date of appointment.
- Three or more years’ experience teaching writing at the college level.
- Experience with teaching or scholarship in one or more of these areas: Creative Writing, English Education, Literature, Linguistics, African American Studies, and/or Diverse or Global Rhetorics.
Compensation
Compensation for the Fall 2026 semester will be $3,500 per class.
